What is CouplerTec?
Couplertec is an electronic devcie designed to prevent or reduce rust, oxidisation and corrosion of your vehicle. The system runs off your vehicle battery and uses less than 30 milliamps of power. How does CouplerTec work?
Rust or corrosion is an electrochemical reaction and that is why it is possible to control it electronically. Couplertec uses a unique process called "Capacitive Coupling" to buyild a negative surface charge on all metal body parts. This negative surface charge and it's corresponding electrostatic field create an "electrical double layer" which in turn reduces the rate at which the iron and oxygen combine. The result is a reduction in the rate at which the corrosion (rusting) cycle proceeds.
